Birmingham, Alabam offers an offbeat vacation destination for travelers looking to explore one of the
South's small cities. With a past fueled by race riots in the 1950s, Birmingham has evolved into a city

Nightlife
For those who enjoy a night out on the town, Birmingham has a bustling nightlife. The Greater

lion demonstrations and wildlife shows. Alabama Adventure is Birmingham's most well—known theme
park, offering roller coasters, a water park and variety of rides suitable for younger children.
Golf
For the golfer in the family, the Metro Birmingham area houses nearly 20 golf courses. Alabama also is
home to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, a collection of championship-caliber golf courses at 11 sites
across the state. In Birmingham, golfers will find the Oxmoor Valley and Ross Bridge golf courses. With
54 holes, the Oxmoor Valley course offers a unique history, having been constructed on land once used
to mine for the U.S. Steel Company. The Shannon Valley causes the the terrain of Ross Bridge to be
rolling, making for an especially challenging round of golf.
